Nora McQueeney Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce Nora McQueeney passed away on March 12, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

 Nora was born on May 16, 1939 and immigrated from a dairy farm in Kilmacrane, Ireland at 18 years of age to the United States. Here she met her beloved husband Thomas Joseph McQueeney and they married in the Bronx, New York. Nora, alongside Thomas, later settled in Pearl River and raised her three children. She would then earn her associates degree and become a registered nurse. Until she retired she loved helping her patients, especially passionate about helping adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Although retiring from the career she loved, she was now able to spend more time with her grandchildren, whom she adored.

She is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Thomas McQueeney. She is survived by her children, Kevin McQueeney of Pearl River, Jane Driscoll (Richard), of Portsmouth, and Carolyn Loughran (Terrence), of Pearl River; her beloved grandchildren, Devin, Bailey, Maura, Maeve, Michael and Terrence; many nieces and nephews. Her siblings still living in her homeland of Ireland: Mary Golden (Paddy) and James Ryan (Helen). She is predeceased by her mother Nora McCarthy. The family will be receiving visitors at Wyman Fisher Funeral Home in Pearl River,NY from 9-11am and 11:00am prayer service following by a burial at St. Anthonys Cemetery in Nanuet ,NY.
